The Digital Wish Foundation is offering a 2-for-1 opportunity on Ultra Flip Cameras.

A flip normally costs at least $150, and now classroom teachers can purchase or request donations of a maximum of four flip cameras ($300+$24 shipping).

Just go to digitalwish.com, register as a teacher, and either purchase or make a wish list for your classroom.  The foundation has a three-year mission to help modernize technology in schools.

The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency is sponsoring a video contest for professional and amateur filmmakers on Burn Wise, the agency’s campaign to help citizens reduce pollution from their fireplaces and other wood-burning appliances. With the theme “Learn Before You Burn,” the winning 30- or 60-second videos will promote responsible wood-burning techniques that can help citizens save money while making the air healthier to breathe.

I’d been talking to my staffs about doing a live broadcast of a school event for more than a year. A few weeks ago, they finally decided to give it a try. They decided to use Livestream.com to broadcast the pep assembly at school last week and here is a little about what they learned-and what I learned watching them.
